    Responsibilities

    The TDS, under the direction of and as assigned by the Training and Development Manager and/or the VP of Training, is responsible for the assessment, development and implementation of training and for assuring comprehensive utilization of the Learning Management System to support Related's employees in providing the institutional quality management promised in the Companys mission statement.

     

     

    The TDS will participate in the assessment of training needs and development of staff skills through various activities.They may include:

     

    • Rating of individuals participation in training programs and/or sessions, including new-hire training
    • Assessment of work performed, including feedback from the employees' supervisors and on-site audit results, both internal and external
    • Assessing needs based on the employees' requests for training
    • Assessing general training needs based on new programs, acquisitions and start-ups, critical needs; significant changes to existing programs, etc.
    • Identifying and/or developing skill and competency training resources that will enable employees to meet their current job requirements
    • Identifying and/or developing skill and competency training resources that will enable employees to achieve their career path goals
    • Identifying and/or developing skill and competency training resources to enable the Company to manage changes and new challenges

     

    The TDS will participate in the implementation of training and development of training resources through various activities.They may include:

    • Plan, develop and present formal classroom instruction
    • Plan, develop and present one-on-one, i.e. on-the-job training
    • Act as training liaison for new employees and employees new to positions and/or responsibilities
    • Review/audit of actual work performed and recommendations for follow-up training
    • Review LMS-required-training status and communicate that information to the district/regional/corporate supervisors
    • Develop learning modules for the LMS (as content experts)
    • Identify other content experts and work with them to develop learning modules for the LMS
    • Act as one of the key players in action plans for critical-needs situations, acquisitions and/or start-ups by participating in the formation of the action plan, providing training throughout the process and by reviewing progress and confirming the focus remains on point.  The TDS is responsible for communicating with the supervisors any observations that will keep the plan on course or any de-railing actions that the supervisor will need to address.  
    • Hiring/staffing participation (i.e. identifying skills and competencies necessary for the job/s and helping to confirm those qualifications in potential hires) 

    Special projects assigned by the training and development manager and vice president of training : 

    • Special projects may include, but are not limited to, the following:
    • Participate in company-wide projects as assigned.
    • Provide mentoring to other Training & Development Specialists new to RMC or to their positions
    • Participate in due diligence projects or other central office endeavors relating to the expansion of the portfolio
    • Participate with the Compliance staff and the Management staff in the development of management plans and/or Affirmative Fair Housing Marketing Plans as needed for new/developing sites

    Working Conditions:

    Qualifications

     

    • Some college preferred, but appropriate training experience will be considered
    • Two+ years training or related experience
    • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
    • Proven ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
    • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team of professionals
    • Ability and willingness to work with diverse population, including different levels of skill and responsibility 
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
    • Real Estate and/or Human Resources experience a plus
    • Must demonstrate ability to develop and present training on complex topics; interview and selection process includes a training demonstration to class of incumbent Training and Development staff and other employees 
    • Previous Yardi experience preferred
