    Responsibilities

    Reporting to the COO, the Director of Strategy & Operations is a highly influential role, combining strategic planning, business management, and communications and process improvement across the Related Companies. The position is the COO’s partner in preparing the company’s short-term and long-term strategic roadmap and enabling the executive and project team to over-deliver on expected results. The Director will provide oversight and guidance to projects of high importance and will lead key strategic cross-functional and transformational projects.  Working side by side with the COO and other senior leaders, this role offers broad exposure will prepare the candidate for numerous leadership roles in the future.

     

    • Synthesize, summarize and provide critical thinking for senior executives on all corporate (platform-level) financial and strategic matters across the company’s real estate and corporate portfolio.
    • Assist senior leaders in creating business plans for new operating platforms and or cross-functional initiatives
    • Question and/or challenge current business processes in order to simplify methodologies and create more transparent messaging
    • Be the key day-to-day owner of corporate cost control, either by reducing overall costs or determining more efficient and effective methods of allocating costs
    • Prepare ad-hoc analysis for senior executives.

    Qualifications

    • 5  years relevant experience in top-tier management consulting, investment banking, or ideally, both
    • Proven experience in maximizing the operating and financial performance of a company or project
    • Comfort in dealing with hypotheticals and/or large data sets and driving to succinct, executive-level communications.  Ability to communicate at all levels in a confident, data-driven manner
    • Experience in creating business or strategic plans and a successful track record of implementation
    • Strong project management skills, results-driven, adaptable with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

    • Undergraduate degree required, MBA a plus.
