    Responsibilities

    The successful candidate will play an integral role in informing and engaging employees nationally across our regional offices and divisions in our shared strategic vision and goals and in communicating all of the benefits of working at Related. They will collaborate with both the Human Resources and Corporate Communications departments to develop and implement an internal communications and intranet content strategy that engages employees in the company’s vision, mission, business goals and values.  Additionally, he/she will manage and create content that embodies the employee experience with the goal of informing, engaging, and retaining talent including a yearly calendar of proactive messaging of employee benefits, education and training initiatives, and volunteer and employee activities.  The successful candidate will create relationships across the company and with all departments, as well as stay up to date on the latest technology and methods to facilitate effective employee communication and engagement.

     

    • Help develop and execute on a digital roadmap for employee communications, including the company’s intranet portal and external channels.
    • Lead the development and execution of a communications plan that helps keep employees across the Related entities well informed.
    • Champion and maintain editorial ownership of the firm’s intranet platform.
    • Supports content development and management/execution of internal announcements, programs and events.
    • Act as gatekeeper to ensure effective and thoughtful communications and alignment with overall Related Brand.
    • Create year-long proactive content calendar showcasing all of the benefits and opportunities of working at Related and highlighting all of the educational and training activities in a highly engaging manner.
    • Establish metrics, track progress and develop tools to employee communication effectiveness.
    • Analyze channel usage trends and statistics, and develop a deep understanding of how and why associates use the intranet in order to develop the strategic roadmap for it, as well as make continuous improvements to usability and content.
    • Serve as a key thought-partner on a variety of internal communications projects.
    • Work closely with Human Resources and Communications teams on key employee engagement activities such as volunteerism events and initiatives, diversity, and other initiatives.
    • Have strong external peer network to help understand and translate current trends in digital communications and employee experience.
    • Ensure consistency of messages across internal communications channels.

    Qualifications

    • 5-7 years’ experience in internal communications and/or employee engagement
    • Outstanding communication skills, including writing and editing skills and understanding of social media and video assets
    • Strong project management skills
    • Organized, detail and process oriented
    • Highly collaborative; ability to build strong relationships at all levels
    • Familiarity with communications and collaboration tools and platforms, including Sharepoint
    • Willingness to “roll up your sleeves” and work across multiple projects with limited direction
    • Experience working with all management levels including executive stakeholders across various departments
    • Ability to manage rapid change and stressful situations
    • Strong technical skills and knowledge of web applications
    • Strong understanding of website usability and how to use digital channels to communicate with a diverse audience
    • Experience working in a Corporate/Internal Communications or HR Department
    • Proven track record of successful collaboration with IT department
    • Demonstrated strong project and time management skills
    • Proven ability to influence decision-makers and manage change
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize between key deliverables
