  • Overview

    The Senior Compliance Manger, under the guidance and supervision of the General Counsel, is responsible for ensuring compliance in all affordable housing programs within Related Management Company’s portfolio. Knowledge of U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), HUD HOME, Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC), Tax Exempt Bonds, New York State Rent Stabilization, Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) programs. Candidate must possess good verbal and written communication skills.



    • Examine tenant files in preparation for Management Occupancy Reviews (MOR) and LIHTC file audits and review responses corresponding to agency audits
    • Review LIHTC annual owner certifications
    • Respond to inquiries regarding various affordable housing inquiries
    • Stay current with HUD, state and local updates about to various program requirements
    • Assist with drafting, approving and training staff in creating bands of affordability for each property
    • Read and synthesize regulatory documents
    • Prepare and update Compliance Narratives to summarize regulatory as well as state, city and local requirements for properties
    • Assist in preparing and submitting HUD documents for portfolio, such as Management Entity Portfolio, Project Owner’s Certification for Owner-Managed Multifamily Housing Projects, Affirmative Fair Housing Marketing Plans, Tenant Selection Plans, and lease packages, etc.
    • Review contracts to ensure compliance with Company’s policies
    • Monitor legal cases
    • Design staff training protocols in collaboration with supervisor and internal staff members


    • Strong HUD, LIHTC, Layered site background overseeing 1500+ units
    • Previous recent experience as a HUD Enterprise Income Verification (EIV) Coordinator a must
    • Section 236 experience preferred
    • Rent Stabilization experience preferred
    • TaCCs or COS required, BOS preferred
    • Knowledge of OneSite and/or Yardi
    • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
    • Strong leadership, organizational skills
    • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team of professionals
    • Must be willing to travel up to 20%
    • Bachelor’s degree required. JD preferred
