    The Controller – 10HY will be responsible for all accounting activities associated with the 10 Hudson Yards office tower, including: oversight of the general accounting function, external financial reporting to investors, internal management reporting, strategic planning and staffing for this premier property. The Controller will review on a monthly basis the work of their staff to ensure proper GAAP accounting for business activities, transactions, and financial reporting. The Controller will also interface with independent auditors, internal associates and external parties. This position also involves collaboration with senior leaders to produce a variety of high quality, monthly and quarterly reports that are used companywide for reporting, analysis and planning. The ideal candidate is a highly entrepreneurial and self-motivated person who thrives in a dynamic work environment and demonstrates a flexible and adaptable work style that responds quickly and efficiently under tight deadlines. The Controller will report to the VP of Commercial Accounting and be based in our New York office.


    • Supervise and guide the activities of a team comprised of multiple senior and staff accountants, while providing leadership, motivation and support to drive superior performance
    • Review monthly: work papers, lender and partner compliance reporting
    • Review investor distribution waterfall analysis and lender compliance schedules while coordinating with Senior Management and Treasury
    • Consolidation of various operating subsidies on a GAAP, Cash, IFRS and modified accrual basis
    • Provide guidance on business combinations, REIT, TRS and property level transactions ensuring compliance with GAAP
    • Assist in preparation of legal entity consolidated financial statements
    • Oversee preparation of quarterly and year-end GAAP, tax, cash, and internal reporting
    • Evaluate financial and operational activities and make recommendations to improve efficiency and internal control
    • Collaborate with operating teams and senior management on operational reporting metrics
    • Participate in various business process and technology initiatives
    • Assist in the management and coordination of GAAP, tax and tenant audits
    • Assist with special projects, as needed


    • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
    • Must have 10+ years of accounting experience ideally focused on commercial real estate; primary experience should be in the public accounting field
    • Superior organizational skills, must be detail oriented and have the ability to prioritize and multitask to meet deadlines
    • A mature professional with excellent judgment, interpersonal skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
    • Excellent analytical skills with ability to evaluate data and present solutions to solve business issues
    • Clear communicator with ability to interact and present to senior leaders
    • Knowledge of JD Edwards and Yardi or other property management related software, a plus
    • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel
    • Knowledge of HFM and Hubble, a plus
