Responsibilities

The Corporate Communications and Corporate Affairs office is seeking a Communications Associate/ Manager who is a self-starter, team player and go-getter with strong writing skills, excellent project management skills and exceptional judgement.  The office works with Related’s executives and teams across all business lines nationally and internationally to develop proactive strategic plans and tactics to support corporate and divisional business, marketing and awareness objectives. 

 

The successful candidate has the presence to work with senior leaders and will work collaboratively with the team to both position the company and its diverse global business segments to the media, community and government partners. They will also identify and drive synergistic business initiatives across various corporate businesses and investments. They will take a proactive role in issues management, driving story ideas and initiatives, and creating informative, persuasive and concise multi-channel communications. They will collaborate on the planning and execution of corporate and property-specific events, as well as speaking engagements on behalf of senior executives at Related.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate has unquestionable integrity and is passionate about our work and excited to articulate our positions in a cohesive and compelling voice to our audiences and identify and spearhead new initiatives. S/he is highly entrepreneurial and self-motivated person who thrives in a dynamic and passionate work environment and demonstrates a flexible and adaptable work style, responding quickly and efficiently under tight deadlines. S/he has exceptional judgement and written and verbal communication and organizational skills; and experience or deep understanding in communicating across varied platforms and technologies. S/he has strong strategic thinking and planning abilities and is a clear communicator with ability to interact with senior executives and manage relationships with the media and key stakeholders.  Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in journalism or communications or a related discipline (or the equivalent) and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in public relations and/or media.  The position reports to the EVP of Corporate Affairs.
