Responsibilities

The Accounts Receivable Auditor will work closely with the Senior Controller, Director of Marketing and Training and Portfolio Vice President to support a diverse office that includes Fund Management, Operational Management and Accounting departments. The Accounts Receivable Auditor will be responsible for providing property and corporate level support in identifying and correcting discrepancies in the Accounts Receivable processes and procedures. The ideal candidate is a highly entrepreneurial and self-motivated person who thrives in a dynamic work environment and demonstrates a flexible and adaptable work style that responds quickly and efficiently under tight deadlines. The Accounts Receivable Auditor will report to the Senior Controller and be based in our Dallas, Texas offices.

 

The primary responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

 

  • Provide on-site support and consultation for all property accounts receivable efforts.
  • Analyze and interpret lease agreements and their ancillary documents to ensure proper application/compliance with policies and procedures of Related.
  • Provides reporting and analytical support to Corporate Accounting and Regional Management team.
  • Work with property managers to audit lease management systems and reporting.
  • Coordinate with property staff to ensure all documents pertaining to tenants are uploaded into the Property Management System.
  • Work with property staff to conduct monthly audits of files as compared to system reports.
  • Provide support to Corporate Accounting during disposition/acquisition process.
  • Provide training to site members, as needed.
  • Provides lease interpretation support to accounting, regional and property teams.
  • Assist with implementing policies and procedures for newly acquired assets.
  • Assist with or lead special projects, as needed.

Qualifications

 

  • 4-Year college degree, preferred; high school diploma, required
  • Minimum of two years of leasing experience, required
  • Prior accounting exposure, highly preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Advanced written and oral skills
  • Time Management – able to complete projects ahead of deadlines and prioritize projects based on site and departmental needs.
  • Adaptability – ability to accept changes in the work environment, manage competing demands and deal with unexpected events
  • Goal Oriented – able to set and achieve personal and departmental goals
  • Integrity – able to perform all job functions in an ethical manner
  • Team Oriented – a mature professional with excellent judgment, interpersonal skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Knowledge of JD Edwards, Yardi, Onesite or other property management related software, a plus
  • Travel – 50%-60% travel, required
